Silvana Peres
(N. 21 April, 1987)Silvana Peres was born in Lisbon, but it is in Cascais that she has always lived. It was there that, at the age of fourteen, fado appeared for the first time in her life.
Along with horse riding, fado soon became a natural passion, almost hereditary in her family and, therefore, she accepted the challenge of her group of friends, in 2001, at a get-together in Cascais, and sang fado quite naturally for the first time.
Silvana not only took the risk, but seven years later she decided to follow the path of music with a professionalism recognized in some of the most important fado houses in Lisbon, such as Casa de Linhares or Parreirinha de Alfama, among others.
Behind her are ten years dedicated to dance and high equestrian competition, areas that still fascinate her today and from which she never dissociates herself.
The fado singer is not restricted to fado, however. Her musical influences come from different latitudes and genres, a fact that greatly contributes to marrying music and dance and, together, finding the right way to define her as an artist: an intense and versatile woman of various nuances that are reborn in each performance and on each stage, commanded by her warm and harmonious voice.
In 2017, Silvana Peres presents the first album "Fado no Pé", considered by Blitz Magazine as one of the ten best World Music albums, published in Portugal. Over the next three years, Silvana takes "Fado no Pé" and all its Portuguese-speaking touches to multiple national and foreign stages.
It is in 2022 that Silvana Peres gives wings to a creative boldness that is increasingly present and strong in her music. She presents “Água Nova”, a new album in which the artist risks even more, by assuming the authorship of some original songs. She is joined by renowned composers and authors, such as Dino d'Santiago, Paulo Abreu Lima, Raquel Tavares, Sebastião Antunes, Jonas Lopes, Beatriz Pessoa, João Caetano, and Carlos Leitão, among others.
The focus of the new album is on music that is always sung in Portuguese and goes beyond any barriers and prejudices, by bringing together in a very elegant and multicultural lineup genres such as fado, pop music, popular marches, samba, morna, chorinho and funaná.
It is with “Água Nova” that Silvana Peres reveals to the public her most personal and sensitive side, where she lives, uncomplex and above any labels, her music. It fits every color you want to paint it, with rhythm, feeling, dance, and everything that is important for the “journey”.
Since 2022, Silvana has been part of the resident cast of the highly regarded "Clube de Fado", in Alfama (Lisbon).
