José Manuel Neto
José Manuel Neto was born in Lisbon in 1972. The son of the Fado singer Deolinda Maria, he grew up in an environment that was ideally suited to the development of his talent, having as his references some of the greatest names from the world of Fado, such as Carvalhinho, José Nunes, Jaime Santos and Fontes Rocha. He developed his own style marked by the fluidity, versatility and phrasal simplicity that characterises the best popular music.
He is unanimously recognised for the excellent quality of his work, not only in his accompaniment of such great Fado singers as Carlos do Carmo, Camané, Mariza, Ana Moura, Aldina Duarte, Cristina Branco and Mísia, but also in the way that he interprets his own music at his solo concerts, as is now the case at the CCB.
