Camané is unanimously considered to be the foremost fado singer on the current music scene.
His latest album, Infinito Presente, shot straight to No.1 in the charts and has been enthusiastically welcomed by both fans and critics alike.
His voice releases the words early and allows them to rest in exactly the right place, using their repetition to create those unique moments in which fado happens, highlighting his great concern with the subtle nuances of his interpretation of each song. Camané oozes authenticity and easily transcends himself: tears literally pour from his throat when he sings of sadness and a cloud of bitterness is sketched before our eyes when he sings of jealousy.
He knows how to give the words that he intones an even greater dimension than the one that would normally be imagined.
Emotion. Tradition enriched with just the right amount of risk-taking. Versatility. All of this is part of Camané’s artistic personality.
Infinito Presente: the Infinite Present - ”The passage of time, the time that is our memory, the time in which we live,” as he himself says.
