Sandra Correia

Sandra Correia was born in Santa Maria da Feira, on the 25th of August 1973. Her father, a musician, instilled in her an interest in music from an early age, with a particular predilection for Fado. At the age of 11, Sandra was already singing for some audiences, turning professional at the age of 16.

In 2009, she accepted the invitation to be part of the cast of the Fado house “Janelas do Fado”, in Porto and, later, of “O Fado”, in London.

Sandra's career is guided by participation in several shows, selling out theaters throughout the country and abroad. From 2010 to 2013, she was part of the cast of the show “Fado in Porto” and, the following year, she headed to Lisbon to become a resident fado singer at “Clube de Fado”, in Alfama, where she stayed for seven years. She performed in the most varied concert halls and cultural centers in the country and, abroad, gave concerts in Spain (Afonso Henriques Foundation, Zamora; Palacio Ferrera, Ávila; Teatro Salon, Santiago de Compostela); France (La Pleiade; Vaugarny Theater; La Touline; Le Palais); Austria (Metropol, Vienna; Treibhaus, Innsbruck; Europark, Salzburg; Orpheum, Graz; Spielboden, Dornbirn); Morocco (Bibliothèque Nationale, Rabat; Palais Bahia, Marrakech); Israel (Recanati Auditorium and Einav Auditorium, Tel Aviv).

In addition, she has performed solo at numerous music festivals, such as the Felicja Blumental International Music Festival 2015 (Tel Aviv, Israel); Caixa Ribeira (Porto, 2015 and 2016); XV Rialp village music festival 2015 (Catalonia); Festival International des Cordes Pincées, Rabat 2016 (Morocco); Womex 2016; Folk Holidays Festival 2017 (Czech Republic) and Caixa Alfama (Lisbon, 2017).

Sandra's communicative and artistic vein passes not only through Fado, but also through the radio, where she did, on Águia Azul FM, a program for children, later starting to ensure the morning schedule. In addition, she participated as an actress in the films “Akasha” and “Madness”.

Sandra has already recorded three albums: “Ao vivo”, from 2012, “Perspectiva”, released in 2015 and “Aqui existo”, from 2018. All of them have repertoires mostly made of original themes.

After dozens of concerts and a long road traveled, Sandra Correia decided to open her own fado house in 2021, Fado Português. Located in Vila Nova de Gaia, with a privileged view over Porto, Sandra has created her comfort zone in this space, where she can move everyone who passes by with her voice and interpretation.
