O Grande Rio Das Palavras (The Great Word River)
Musical shadow play
Based upon the book The Great Word Factory by Agnés de Lestrade from the Plano Nacional de Leitura (National Reading Programme), the Sombronautas offer a workshop with plenty of experimentation, discovery, learning and fun. Participants will create a shadow play about the world of Fado, and explore the magical world of animated forms. Fado and Fado singers come to life through light itself. Words, poetry and music are special while exploring fado’s major subjects through light beams, projections, shadows, silhouettes or magical lanterns. At the end of the show the audience interacts and experiments on the various techniques used, and is also invited to sing some of the Fados sung during the play.
