SOU DO FADO - Presentation of the Fado Application


On June 30, 2009, the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa and EGEAC promote, at the Museu do Fado, the presentation of the work developed under the project Application of Fado to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.



The free entrance program consists of Tours with Fado to the Museum exhibitions, Workshops, Conferences and Events:

ACORDEM AS GUITARRAS

From 11.00am to 1.00pm the Portuguese guitar students from the Museum School perform along the exhibition circuit of the Museum.

POETAS DO MEU PAÍS

At 2.00pm a Tour with Fado will happen with the special participation of Joana Amendoeira, Pedro Amendoeira (portuguese guitar) Pedro Pinhal (guitar) Paulo Paz (bass), David Zacaria (cello) e Filipe Raposo (piano and accordion)

APPLICATION OF FADO TO THE REPRESENTATIVE LIST OF THE INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF HUMANITY

At 15.00 pm takes place the public presentation of the work undertaken under the project Application of Fado, with the presence of the Mayor of Lisbon, Dr. António Costa.

Clara Freyão Camacho, from the Instituto de Museus e Conservação, presents the current status within the competence and program guidelines of the Instituto de Museus e Conservação for the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

From the project team for the Application of Fado, conducted by the Lisbon City Council, Rui Vieira Nery (Scientific Committee) and Carlos do Carmo (Consulting Committee) give notice of the work developed under the project and the program guidelines provided under the safeguarding programme.

Paulo Lima (anthropologist, the research team) makes a demonstration of the Database project, based on a model of integrated management for the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

TRIBUTO À GUITARRA

At 6.00 pm, in the Museum Café, a Guitar Recital with Ricardo Parreira (Portuguese guitar), Fernando Alvim (guitar), Marco Oliveira (guitar), Yami (acoustic bass) and Joaquim Teles (percussion).


WORKSHOP DE FADO
To end the day programming SOU DO FADO we have the special participation of Argentina Santos, Carlos do Carmo and Carminho that will sing timeless themes of Fado.
