Marco Rodrigues returns once again with Fados do Fado, his fourth album. Produced by Diogo Clemente, this is a record that is dedicated to the men of fado.
“Fado thrives on the creativity of its performers”: these are the words of Marco Rodrigues himself. However, on Fados do Fado, his reverence extends to other men – not only those who sang the fado, but also to those who composed the music and those who wrote the words that gave rise to the “fados that were part of my upbringing, which I listened to being played live by different musicians and singers or which I learned to sing with other records”.
After his earlier albums Fados da Tristeza Alegre, Tantas Lisboas and EntreTanto, Marco Rodrigues has taken a giant step with Fados do Fado, the record that firmly establishes his reputation and which he will now be presenting at the CCB.
