The achievement of an exhibition about one of the most famous fado interpreters, by the occasion of the 40 years of his career, represents a bigger responsibility. With this initiative we mean to contribute to a deeper knowledge and divulgation of an artistic career indispensable to Fado.

Carlos do carom carried the fado to different corners of the planet, giving a new interpretation and combining consecrated and new poets, trying to transmit feelings and learning’s which are ours but also of many others. He made the fado happen out of Portugal and he contributed to the necessary and permanent construction of the Lisbon’s city identity, re-creating an alive heritage.

More than “Um Homem na Cidade” (a man in the city), Carlos do Carmo took along with his work, his sensibility, his talent and art, some pieces of Lisbon to the World.
